Plan F denotes an objective that is a planfluorite also called a plan-semi-apochromat. (Some manufacturers call such objectives Fluars or Neofluars) These objectives are also corrected for four wavelengths, but not quite as completely as planapochromats. PLAN F are also well-suited for colour photomicrography and are less expensive than planapochromats.
